2020
I started out with putting finishing touches to a collection of paintings of walled gardens.
I and three other female artists, who will be exhibiting in Stepping Through The Gate. Organised by The Irish Georgian Society in The Assembly Rooms in Dublin. Due to Covid 19 this exhibition will be held now in May 2021.
Late January 2020 I returned to The Ballinglen Arts Foundation for two weeks of intensive work. Resulting from this two drawings of the cottages at night have joined The Ballinglen Arts Foundations Collection. And a further drawing Lighting the Way was selected for The Royal Ulster Academy Annual Exhibition.
Much to my huge delight I was invited to be part of Na Cailleacha a collaboration with seven other professional older female artists - all of us with different talents and approaches. Originally we were to spend the month of September in Cyprus which became not possible to travel to. So, much to our great joy, Ballinglen Arts Foundation was able to accommodate us. It was a rich and rewarding month which will result in many events in 2021.
In August I made a batch of oak gall ink from galls gathered in the woods which surround my studio. I am enjoying finding my way with a new medium I have been using sharpened oak twigs to draw with and found feathers for adding washes.
